Description

Final post – check out our game!

lose

Mr Powerful is a game that let students experience, in a playful way, how Amnesty International takes action against the violation of Freedom of Speech and persuade students to contribute to this cause.

In the game you play the oppressor who violates Human Rights and is therefore criticised by different channels. As a player you therefor experience the rising pressure. It is up to you to withstand the pressure and remain calm.

The game consists of three mini- games. Each mini-game stands for a different kind of pressure. It is either the pressure of the media, the pressure of petitions or the pressure of a protest. If you lose a mini-game there will be extra stress added on your stress-bar. When you succeed, you get no extra stress. When your stressbar reached the maximum, the game as Mr Powerful stops. Now you can choose to Play Again or Unlock a New Character. Once the new character is unlocked, you experience your real powers. Curious what that is?

minigame20: Werewolf

pickafigure
YOUAREHEDONIST
Werewolf is the game that inspired this game. It is a role playing game. By choosing a shape/image at the beginning of the game you are assigned a character. Then the game starts and you have to escape/find people and do all kinds of things. Answer questions, participate into a chat group, follow people on a map….the game is real, it is not a board game, it is not a card game and it is not a tv reality show. You can play it everywhere all the time. The players can represent protesters – violent and peaceful, the authorities, the police, amnesty…

minigame19: Shapy

You chose your shape and colour. You become a shape. Everybody is a shape and together you can create a new shape, figure or even a painting. You can see that the whole thing consists of different people and at the end send it as a postcard to a prisoner of conscience with the names of all people who are embedded in the picture.
You get e notification when someone adds you in a new shape, figure or a painting.

minigame18: Become a Criminal

IMG_20141120_161903
First you get a very fast and short questionnaire to determine your Criminal Points. It can be filled in less than a minute. Then your criminal avatar is created with the accumulated score. You can compare yourself with friends. The game consists of challenges that will either raise or decrease your criminal score. Check out the point menu to get an idea for what kind of activities you can be involved in order to gain more points.

Minigame16&17: Disturb the universe & Broken Phone (Chinese Whispers)

IMG_20141120_161856
DISTURB THE UNIVERSE

Speak up ideas that some might not agree with!
The idea of DISTURB THE UNIVERSE basically states “while I don’t agree or care for what you are saying, I do support your right to say it, for herein lies true freedom”.
We need to dare disturb the universe by not being manipulated or frightened by judgmental groups who assume the right to insist that if we do not agree with them, not only do we not understand but we are wrong. How dull the world would be if we all had to feel the same way about everything. I f we all had to like the same books, dislike the same books…
Had there been a literary censorship in Rome, we should have had today neither Horace, Juvenal, nor the philosophical works of Cicero. If Milton, Dryden, Pope, and Locke had not been free, England would have had neither poets nor philosophers…
BROKEN TELEPHONE GAME
It’s basically the same as the traditional old game of whispering a word or a sentence in one’s ear. Here you do it in your phone, the message is recorded and sent to the people who are playing the game right now. At the end:
– If the message/word is kept during the whole game everybody gets points.
– If the message/word is different at the end, you can see who broke the chain and loses points. The people before win points. The people after neither win or lose.
